We have a very busy December planned in the frog room! Below is a detailed list of everything you need to know for the main events leading up to winter break. December calendars will also be sent home with your child this week. Please take a few moments to read through this entire post – lots of details are on this page!
(1) Holiday Party
Our Holiday Party will be held on Thursday, December 21 from 1:50-3:00 pm. If you would like to volunteer for a station (game or craft) or bring a snack, please sign up on this Google sheet. Also, if you are planning to attend the party, please sign up on the form as well, so I can notify the office of parents in attendance.
(2) Holiday Shoppe
Georgetown’s Holiday Shoppe is next week, and our class is scheduled to shop on Wednesday, December 6 from 12:20-1:00 pm. An informational page and envelope will be coming home in your child’s frog folder tomorrow with more details about the items in the shoppe.
(3) Gingerbread Houses
Our class will be making graham cracker gingerbread houses with our fifth grade buddies on Thursday, December 7 as part of our “Holidays Around the World” study of Germany. If you would like to donate an item for us to use when decorating our houses, please sign-up on this Google sheet. Thank you for supporting our learning!
(4) Book Exchange
We will be doing our holiday book exchange during the last week of school before break. Please send in a gender-neutral book (less than $5) with your kindergartener by Friday, December 15. Please wrap the book and include a tag that says who the gift is from (ex: To a Friend, From Miss Hutchison). These can be sent in at any time. 🙂
(5) Holiday Music Program
Georgetown’s Holiday Music Program will be held at Fair Haven Church on Thursday, December 14. Our kindergarteners will be performing at 6:30 pm. The kids have been practicing so hard and are ready to impress you with their musical talent!
