Ready for Take-Off!

This afternoon, our classroom was transformed into an airport as we prepared for a trip around the world! We will be spending the next few weeks traveling to different countries and learning about the holidays that they celebrate in the winter time. To prepare for our trip, there were a few things we needed to do:

First, we had to get our plane tickets. The kindergarteners were so excited to find their tickets “hidden” under their table spots!

Once we had our tickets, the kindergarteners realized we needed suitcases to carry our things. So…each friend got their own suitcase to decorate! We will be filling these suitcases with our learning every time we visit a new country.

Next, we talked about something else people need when they leave the United States – a passport. We filled out our own passports and they are ready to be filled with stamps from each country!

We were almost ready for take-off, but a flight isn’t complete without pretzels and juice from the flight attendant. 🙂 The kids had a BLAST on our “flight” around the world! (I had an airplane video playing so it looked like we were really in the sky). We explored a globe and a map, too! We will be tracking our travels on our own maps each day.

Our class is ready to travel around the world and learn about new holidays! I hope your kindergartener had fun on our airplane adventure! 🙂
